We don’t! Simply put, we don’t believe hourly pricing is fair to you as a client.  When you’re paying someone for time, you never know what your bill will be.  Instead, we create a custom package of services tailored to your business needs.  There are no surprises when your bill comes due.  Just one predictable, flat-rate for the length of our contract, with an annual opportunity to review and renew.

In the United States, average bookkeeping services range from $500 - $3,500 or more per month, depending on the volume of transactions, number of accounts, and complexity of the work.  Other factors to consider are the education and experience of the bookkeeper you hire and the exact services included in each bookkeeping package.  Many one-size-fits-all bookkeeping services offer low prices and very basic reconciliations.  Other firms, such as ours, offer high quality, custom tailored packages and personalized attention to your business needs. In general, a good estimate for bespoke bookkeeping services is 1 to 2% of your annual revenue, and then increase that fee for any extraordinary complexities or additional services you prefer to add on.

At HBC, our basic bookkeeping services include everything you need to stay in compliance with the IRS and set you up for success moving forward.  We start with collecting all of your receipts and monthly financial statements and filing them in an electronic record so you always have them at the click of a button.  We enter your payroll, sales tax, assets, invoices, payments, etc. and then we code, categorize, and reconcile each transaction in that month.  We make sure all of your software is syncing into your QuickBooks appropriately and enter adjusting journal entries, if needed.  We ask you any clarifying questions, cross-check our work, and then generate reports for your reference.  If this seems like a lot of stuff - it’s because it is!  We pack our basic bookkeeping package full of everything you need to succeed.  Anything less is just not the Hill Bookkeeping Way.

Absolutely!  Unless you are a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, we highly recommend working with a designated QuickBooks Online professional.  We spend hours upon hours working in QuickBooks Online, taking courses monthly and annually to further our knowledge, and we recertify every single year.  The software updates frequently and we work hard to stay abreast of what’s new and different in QBO.  So unless you can stay up-to-date with all of the changes, we recommend working with a bookkeeper who does.

We hate to answer a question with a question, but it depends on what you need us to do! How many employees do you have?  How frequently will you pay them?  What software do you use for time tracking?  What software do you use for payroll?  Is everyone on direct deposit or do some employees receive paper checks?  Will we be paying contractors too?  The list goes on and on… better to just schedule an intro call with us and we can walk you through everything 🙂
